Volunteer for REACHE

We are looking for volunteers to help REACHE with the teaching and support of our members. We are looking for specific help as listed below, but if you do not fit into one of these categories and feel you still have something to offer, please contact us.

English support

Our members gain a lot of benefit from practising with native speakers, either one-to-one or in small groups. English teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Doctors

The support REACHE's doctors gain from junior doctors and consultants is hugely valuable. In addition to mentoring, support can range from being a clinical supervisor, giving a teaching session, or just joining us for our clinical communications skills practice.

We invite guest teachers to deliver sessions for our Clinical Tutoring programme on Wednesdays. This is at the level of the Foundation programme (FY1/2) to help our members prepare for their PLAB exam, GMC registration, and subsequent work as a doctor in the UK.

We are pleased to say that many tutors become regulars and offer to come back again and again.

Mentoring

We are looking for people who are working or have recently worked in the NHS to act as a mentor to a refugee doctor, to meet at a mutually convenient time and location on a few occasions over six months initially.
